Homer H. (Bud) Dobbs, 70, of Hixson passed away Thursday, August 6, 2009 in a local hospital. Mr. Dobbs served in the US Navy on the USS Sirius. He retired from DuPont after 34 years of service. Mr. Dobbs was preceded in death by his parents James Carthell and Mattie Shipp Dobbs; sister, Lois Dobbs-Owens and brother Carl Eugene Dobbs. He is survived by his wife Brenda G. Dobbs, children Christy Dobbs-Adams and Clarence H. Dobbs of Hixson and Stephen J. Dobbs of Cleveland, grandchildren Derick, Drew and Brett Dobbs and Jessie and Catie Adams, sisters Virginia Davis and April Dobbs-Hubbard, brother Jim Dobbs, step-mother Joyce Dobbs and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 8, 2009 in the Legacy Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Terry Bolton officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 PM on Friday and from Noon until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Arrangements are by locally owned and operated Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8911 Dallas Hollow Road, Soddy-Daisy, TN.
