Obituary of Malcolm H. Campbell

Malcolm H. Campbell, 64, of Lupton City passed away Saturday, August 15, 2009 at his residence. He was born January 26, 1945. He was of the Methodist Faith. He was a member of Local 917 Operators and Engineers. Malcolm was a flagman at Cleveland Speedway and Boyd's Speedway in the 60's and 70's. He also coached fast pitch softball for many years including the Chattanooga Illusions and Soddy-Daisy Mustangs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis 'Shorty' Campbell and Bennie Campbell and a daughter, Tracy Anne Campbell. He is survived by his two daughters, Vickie (Vann) Hamilton of Calhoun, TN; and Wendy (Andy) Mitchell of Soddy-Daisy; sister, Bobbie (Wayne) Jones; three grandchildren, Tara Lemley, Zac Hamilton, and Eli 'Scooter' Mitchell; two great-grandchildren, L.J. and Carson Lemley; a niece Tammy Johnson and nephew, Steve Carver. Graveside services and interment will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, August 17, 2009 with Minister Gary Massey officiating. Malcolm will be laid to rest beside his beloved mother in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM-2:30 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
