I fondly remember trips to the top of the Empire State Building when I was a kid. I remember great tours on the NYC subway. I remember funny naivete of kitchen processes and delightful introductions to restaurants. I remember going out to ride on a ferry. I remember trips to the museums. I remember always getting a birthday card and a little money as reliably as sunshine. I remember getting to visit and stay with you in NY. I remember talking on New Years Eve for many years. Thanks Aunt Doreen. I€™ll miss you. XOX John

I feel very grateful for the strong presence that Aunt Doreen had in my life and my family. I will always remember her real, honest, down-to-earth, humorous, caring, empathetic and generous personality. A visit with Aunt Doreen was the always an exciting event and greatest pleasure in my childhood. Her home was always open to me throughout the years she lived there... even on 5 minutes notice. Aunt Doreen helped our struggling family...if not for her generosity there would have been no Christmas presents and her ongoing support kept a roof over our heads. She was honest, straightforward & certain conversations with her were instrumental in helping me through tough times in my childhood and adolescence. Aunt Doreen lived a very simple life, had very few possessions, but was one of the most giving people I've ever known. Thank you so much Aunt Doreen for being such a major positive influence in my life. Love, Rez (the spelling of my nickname came from Aunt Doreen - it was originally Rese)

I have had the honor of being the primary caretaker for my Aunt Doreen (O'Sullivan) for the last several years. Aunt Doreen lived a long life. I've been a part of it for nearly 50 years and have heard many stories from her about other family, friends, and acquaintances whom I never had the opportunity to meet. Aunt Doreen passed peacefully at the age of 90 comfortably and peacefully. Over the last 10 years, her memory challenged her. Early on, her long-term memories became richer and richer before slowly most of her memories as we can relate to them seemed to fade. I had the opportunity to hear many stories about her life that I had not heard before. I can say that although she was became more confused about who was who and what to do next, and it was difficult for her be decisive about things, she remained true to her spirit and was always cognizant of the familiarity and comfort she had known from of all of those who were part of her life.
