Four on a bike! One day my two cousins, Fred and Faye, myself and little sister, Kay, had a brilliant idea! There was a very steep hill going up to our grandmother's house and we had been visiting her that day. Well, as we were leaving her house, some bright one in the group decided that it would be fun to ride the one bike we had down that hill. (to this day, I don't remember who had this idea). So here we went. Fred standing on the petals, me on the seat, Faye on the back tire and Kay in the basket (she was kinda small). Well, we did good for about the first ten feet. Then we got tickled, hit the gravels and away we went!! There we were, scattered all over the "gravel" road with skinned elbows, knees and whatever else. Needless to say, our parents were not thrilled with us especially mine, because Kay was very young and I was in charge of her. That is just one little happening that I remember about Fred during our growing up years. Fred was always a special person to me and a great cousin. When their family lived in New Jersey, some of my happiest days would be when I would see their car rounding the curve to our house. I knew that the "kinfolks" were home and we kids would have a great time. I thank the Lord for Fred and Faye and what they have meant to me all these years. They were great cousins and I love them dearly.

Bertie, Lisa, Faye, & all of Fred's family, My heart goes out to your right now as does Mom's (Pat). We both loved Fred dearly and will miss him. Cling to one another and all the good memories, trust in God to see you through it, and if you can try to see him as no longer being in pain. He's in God's Hands now, and although it pains us, there's no better place to be. Give my love to Lisa, Fay & Done, GW, and all. I'm sorry we didn't get to see him one more time before he died. Write us or email me. We love you and our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
