Obituary of Dollie Arrowood

Dollie West Arrowood, 77, of Hixson departed this life to begin a new one on October 18, 2010. She was a life long resident of the Middle Valley area and a member of Middle Valley United Methodist Church for many years. Known as "Miss Dollie", she drove a school bus, for Hamilton County Special Education and Head Start for over 20 years. An avid gardener and bird watcher she will be sadly missed by all those who knew her. Her daughter, Kay West and infant son, Benny West preceded her death. She is survived by her sister, Georgia Harding Thomas of Soddy-Daisy; a wonderful mother to Bobbie West (John) White of Bryant, AL; Jeffery West of Gray, GA; Mark West, David (Jackie) West and Rusty (Donna) West, all of Hixson; two step-children, Robert Arrowood of Hixson and Lisa Arrowood of Athens, TN. A loving grandmother known as "Gran" to thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored. She was a "special" aunt to several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, October 22, 2010 in the Legacy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Reece Fauscett officiating. Interment will follow in Dividing Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-9 PM on Thursday and from 10am until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
