Trina's Favorites I have 3 favorite memories of your Daddy :) The first one was the very first time I met him. I walked in your house and he wrapped me in a bear hug (before he even looked at John! hahaha) and welcomed me into the family. No questions asked, John loved me and that was good enough for him :) He always treated me just like one of the family and I love him for that. That same day he got tears in his eyes when we told of the tiny life that was on the way. And he immediately claimed her as HIS grandchild. A few months later when I came down to visit while John was in school I got to visit with all of you at his house. He and Diane were sooo excited to find out that Syndhl was a girl and she'd be here soon! Jim had me sit down on the couch next to him and put his hand on my belly to say hi to his granddaughter, you could see the sparkle in his eyes and how much he loved her already- and how much he still loved John after all these years. He kept telling me stories about things they did together and how John was the son he never had- and always would be. The last of my favorite memories of Jim was from just the other night. He got to say goodbye to John and hello to Syndhl at the same time. While John was telling him about his new little granddaughter, Diane put his hand on her head and you could see the very slight movements of his thumb rubbing her precious little head. The look of wonder and pure love for my baby girl and husband made a moment in my life that I will never forget. I love you guys bunches, and your Daddy is a special Angel in Heaven now, watching out for us all! *hugs*

Diane, Lindy, and Laura, We wanted you to know that we have been and are still praying for you each day. If we had not been leaving on a trip Sunday morning, we would have come down for the viewing and funeral. May you take shelter under God's wings and know that He will be with you through each step of your grieving. We have such fond memories of Jim and his indomitable spirit, but mostly of his love for His Lord. May God bless you as you trust the Lord with your futures.

To the Precious Standridge family, I am so sorry for the loss of Jim, he was an awesome guy. There were so many times in my teenage life that he was there for me on countless occasions. He welcomed everybody i know with open arms and treated us all like his own children. Heaven gained a new angel yesterday, thats for sure. Sending prayers and love to the family.

I had the privilege of knowing Jim for over two decades not only as friends but almost like brothers. Jim had one of the most wonderful personalities of any person I have met and I will miss him greatly. His smile, laugh and sincere caring for others made him quite special. I hope to see him again as I know he is enjoying heaven. My sincere condolances to his family & loving wife. Through Jim I had the experience of getting to know them and love them.

My Dearest Lindy, I loved your daddy so much - he was the one of the sweetest men I have ever met in my life and he had the ability to make me smile every time I was around him and he gave the best hugs ever!! I know that your heart is breaking and that your loss is great but with every rainy day there is always a rainbow in the future. I count it a blessing in my life to have known your daddy and to have spent some great times with him in years past. You know you were his sunshine and that he loved you so much and what an honor for you to have had him for a father and for God to have given you such a remarkable man in your life our daddys set the bar high for other men to meet in our life and that is a good thing. I love you Lindy Rosalie with all of my heart and I will be praying for you everyday and for your precious momma and sister and your family......Be encouraged to know that this is NOT the end for there is a better day a coming when we all go to heaven to be with our Saviour and our loved ones......and on June 8th Heaven got a WHOLE lot sweeter when your daddy entered the gates!! I love you my precious friend and I am here for you day or night........Dawny
