Obituary of Alonzo Ritchey

Alonzo Ritchey, 81, of Soddy-Daisy passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in an area healthcare facility. He was retired from Serta Mattress after 35 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Ida Mae Slaughter Ritchey; first wife; Jewell Ritchey; daughter, Janice Sharp and sister, Helen Hixson. Survivors include his wife, Emily Sue Ritchey; children, Earl Ritchey of Harrison and Vickie Ritchey of Cleveland; brother, McCoy Park of Soddy-Daisy; sister, Louise Cooley of Dunlap, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday in the Legacy Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Jim Spearman officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park with Randy McRoy, James Ledford, Jerry Ledford, Carl Ritchey, Kevin Ritchey and Zach Ledford serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4-9 P.M. on Friday and Saturday and from Noon until the time of the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
