Obituary of Modie Wayne Travis

Modie Wayne Travis, 67, of Hixson passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at his home. Wayne retired as a Boilermaker from Union Boilermakers Local #454 and was a United States Navy Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Travis. He is survived by his wife, Annette Travis of Hixson; sons, Eric Duane Travis and Anthony Wayne Travis; step-children, Tony Satterthwaite and Pamela Atchley; several grandchildren; brother, Robert Travis; sisters, Barbara Jordan, Jo Quinn, Katie Hammond, Linda Huffstader and Marsha May. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Saturday in the Legacy Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Dewayne Renfro officiating. Entombment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Travis May, Scott May, Michael Pyburn, Dale Jordan, Mike Jordan and Tim Atchley serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
