Mrs. Doris' kindness Our sons, Brandon and Kyle Miller, were blessed to both have been in Mrs. Doris' kindergarten class at Soddy Elementary. They both loved Mrs. Stulce, as did Michael and I. We were also blessed to be part of Mr. and Mrs. Stulce's church family for many years where our families worshipped and served together. After Brandon was baptized, Kyle was then baptized 1 year later. Mr. and Mrs. Stulce were sitting behind me and Michael at church. After Kyle was emersed, Mrs. Stulce lightly patted me on the shoulder and said, "Mom, your job is complete. Good job." Mrs. Stulce, we love you and will miss you. ~ Michael and Beth Miller

Steve and I are saddened by Ms. Dorsie's passing. She had a big heart filled with love. She took a precocious little 5-year-old daughter of ours into her kindergarten class and showed love and patience beyond all comparison...according to Doris, she was letting the light of Krissi shine through. To this day, Krissi still refers to Ms. Doris as her favorite teacher of all times. I was her student, too, in Sunday School classes at our church, and she was a wonderful teacher. Arnold, our prayers are with you and the rest of the family. May God comfort you in this terrible time. We love you, Steve and Jerry Sue

Our prayers and love go out to each of you, now and in the days to come. Zeph 3:17

God blesses us with a few people who leave an indelible print on our hearts and lives. Arnold and Doris Stulce are two of those people. Doris epitomized a lady of grace and one who openly expressed her love for God. Her beautiful smile and simple, soft, and wise words sent encouragement to anyone blessed by knowing her. She loved her wonderful family and was a pillar of strength for Arnold. Their love for one another and their family provided a template for other families to emulate. I hope that all of you - Arnold, Arnie, Becky, Hardie, and the grandchildren - know that I grieve with you. You will remain in my heart and prayers. I will continue to send my love.

Mrs. Doris was a very beautiful and Godly woman that I have always looked up to. She loved her family unconditionally and I always admired her relationship that she shared with Arnold. She loved him but never hesitated to speak her piece. That is what love and respect are all about. I feel very blessed to have had this precious lady in my life.

Dear Arnold, I was blessed to have the opportunity to visit with Doris on the 4th of July for the past several years when we enjoyed fun and fellowship with friends and loved ones at the home of Don and Kathy Loftis. The Lord has blessed you with 63 years of memories and though it may not seem so today, you and your family will find comfort as you share those memories in the days ahead. I am Arnie€™s niece and though I am not Dorsie€™s biological granddaughter, she allowed me to call her Dorsie. Dorsie made me feel so welcome in her home. I remember playing there, her checking on us to make sure we didn€™t need anything, even playing dress-up in a wedding gown she picked up at a garage sale. Part of her love for others came out through her cooking. When we went to North Carolina she could make anything we caught off the pier taste like it came from a 5 star restaurant! She wouldn€™t sit down for dinner until she was sure everyone was taken care of. She had such a serving heart. Uncle Arnie would take us to pick berries, we€™d bring them pack to her and wait in anticipation to see if she would make a pie or a cobbler-both were amazing! Dorsie was many children€™s first teacher and experience with school. How blessed those children were to have her! She gave my son one of her favorite books that she shared with her students every year, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and a stuffed brown bear to go with it. He still sleeps with that bear and takes it to preschool for show-and-tell every once in a while. This is so typical of Dorsie€™s thoughtfulness. As a reading teacher, I appreciate how many children she taught to love reading, something that will bring them pleasure the rest of their lives that they can pass on to their children. Dorsie will live on in the hearts of her family and students. I cherish my memories of sweet, loving, serving, thoughtful Dorsie.
