Obituary of Reece Davis Mills

Reece Davis Mills, 85, of Soddy-Daisy passed away on Monday, September 17, 2012. Mr. Mills was a veteran of the United States Navy serving on the USS Fremont during WWII. He retired from DuPont after thirty two years of service and was a thirty second-degree mason. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Reeca Mills; parents, Harry and Ruth Mills; and sister, Betty Planzer. Survivors include his wife of sixty five years, Evelyn Mills; son, Don (Lee Ann) Mills; brothers, Morris (Ella) Mills and Sam (Velma) Mills; sister, Beverly (Bill) Heard, all of Soddy-Daisy; grandchildren, Victoria Mills of Knoxville and Davis Mills of Signal Mountain. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mitch McClure officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the United States Navy. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
