Obituary of Wagie Masterson McEwen

Wagie McEwen, 79, of Soddy-Daisy passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. Wagie was born in Soddy, Tennessee on November 24, 1935 to the late William and Edna Wilcox Masterson. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Sequoyah Baptist Tabernacle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth McEwen; son, J.R. Ricketts; sister, Louise Barrett; brothers, Leo and Gene Masterson and grandson, Michael Barrett. Survivors include her son, Billy Cunningham of Soddy-Daisy; daughters, Mary Helen (Vernon) Thurmond of Tiftonia, Brenda (Grady) Mathis of Harrison, Glenda (David) Hawkins of Soddy-Daisy, Debbie (Teddy) Keedy of Brayton, TN, step-sons, Jimmy McEwen of Athens, AL and Danny (Diane) Arnold of Rossville; step-daughter, Sherry (Paul) Barrett of Sarcoxie, MO; thirteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 13, 2015 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Stancil officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank, brother in Christ, Dr. Daniel Black and staff for all of the love and care shown to Mrs. McEwen and them.
