Some of my best stories must be told in person. This I learned from Jim, never leave a paper trail or use a cell phone. I always loved the one about his bird and how he taught him to quote Dirty Harry but with a few extra adjectives from Jim. Bird- "make my f------ day son!" Jim was kind but grumpy, sympathetic with a mix of ornery and one of the funniest guys I have ever met. I know not everyone will miss him but I know that I will and he will forever be special to the Double D's! He was truly one of a kind. Raise a bottle of beer to our friend. Who loves ya, baby? RIP Cissy D.

We will all miss the conversations with Jim so much. I knew him for over 30 years. He was a unique person and always made me laugh. I did promise Jim that I would take care of his dog, Doodles, if ever needed. I will be glad to keep that promise. I've left my number with the funeral home for any of the family members to contact me about the dog, if they so desire. Amy Mullens

John and I both have such warm memories and funny stories of Jim We both went through elementary to high school with him. We had talked to him several times in the last few years. He was a favorite person of both of us. A great high school athlete and a good friend. We will miss him and remember him . John and Lizzie Lou Milligan Johnson

We were sorry to learn of Jim's passing. We have helped care for his precious dog, Doodles, for the past few years. The conversations, laughter and jokes we shared during his visits are memories to cherish. Jim always told us if he were to pass he wanted his friend, Amy Mullins, to take Doodles as her own to which she agreed with Jim to do so. Do hope Doodles is well and not grieving so hard. I know Amy will give her as much love as Jim did. We will truly miss you Jim and Doodles.
