Obituary of Junior L. Jones

Junior L. Jones, 88, of Hixson passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016 in an area healthcare facility. Mr. Jones retired from the United States Air Force after twenty one years of service. He was member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Jones; daughter, Paula Jones-Hinrichs; brother, Robert Jones; great-grandson, Austin Davis. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Harper Jones; son, Charles (Kay) Jones of New Castle, CO; daughter, Lisa Moore of Hixson; brothers, James and Michael Jones of Sidney, OH; sisters, Charlotte Lunsford of Sidney, OF, Irma Jane Jones of Sidney, OH, Iris Eileen Ricucci of Virginia Beach, VA, Helen Dhein of St. Cloud, MN, Crystal Sue Doyle of Sidney, OH and Marsha Cost of Sidney, OH; grandchildren, Brandon Oglesby of Hixson, Krissa Guess of Soddy-Daisy, Stacia Oglesby of Soddy-Daisy, Cayla Edmondson of Soddy-Daisy, Kendra Wilson of New Castle, CO, Taylor Jones of Des Moines IA, Alexander Jones of Seattle, WA Jeremy and Jordan Hinrichs of Germany; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Cameron, Zane, Zoey, Ashlee, Anistyn, Oliver, Kai and Remy; several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday February 29, 2016 2:00 PM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Monsignor Al Humbrecht and Deacon Rich Bagby officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the mass at the Church. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 with full military honors provided by the United States Air Force.
