Obituary of Betty Imogene Smith

Betty Imogene Smith, 85, of Soddy Daisy passed away Monday, March 14, 2016. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church, and retired from TVA. The daughter of the late William Taylor and Mary Delta Wilson, she was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lauren Riley; sister, Elaine Dodd; and brother, Stanley Wilson.
Survivors include her children, Carlos Smith, Hixson; Deborah (Chuck) Riley, Soddy Daisy; sisters, Joyce Holcomb, Lucy Penney; brother, Pete (Mary) Wilson; grandchildren, Leslie (Tim) Evans, Taylor (Lindsay) Riley, Kim Raines; great granddaughter, Charlotte Kate Riley; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1:00 P. M., Thursday, March 17, 2016 in the chapel of Legacy Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Jared officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, P.O. Box 46, Chattanooga, TN 37401.
The family will receive friends from 4 - 8 P. M., Wednesday and 12 - 1 P. M. Thursday at Legacy Funeral Home.
