I first knew Chris when he was called Sonny and was a little boy who used to slip in bed with his sister Ann and me. We were apparently good at keeping night monsters away because Chris grew up to become a delightful friend and neighbor. I remember when we moved into our Averill street house, Chris came and helped move a piano in the snow and up to a second floor. For many years in high school, college, and marriage, a group of friends spent weekends at Tellico at the Zahnd cabin and later and a cabin we owned. A special memory is that of us happy campers sitting around a fire and singing ( and drinking a little too) after a day of fishing. Life doesn't get much better than that..

I had the pleasure of working with Chris some years ago. All who worked with him I know, looked forward to the work day with him. He was always so pleasant, funny and caring. I will always remember how he so loved his family, he was so proud of them. We would share family stories throughout our day. He loved to talk about his children as much as I loved to talk about mine. I will always cherish the times we shared and that smile, that big, beautiful smile. Trish McDurmin Chastain

To Chris' family, I say a deep and heartfelt "thank you" for sharing him with so many of us who had the pleasure and privilege to call him "friend". There was no more of a gentlemen than was Chris... To Chris: We who are left behind for now will miss you more than there are words to describe. So I'll have to skip that part and just go on and ask you to save me a near spot on that beautiful River of Life, please Sir. We love you, Chris and we will see you again when the time comes my sweet friend. Your Fan, Michelle Wall
