Linda and I were friends and co-workers for 20 yrs with Wyeth Pharmaceuticals . We really only got to see each other at District and Company Sales Meetings , but we spoke on the phone several times a year just to touch base and chat. She would call me each year on my birthday and remind me that I would always be one month older than she was and forever the "oldest rep" in our District. Linda and I enjoyed seeing each other at Company functions and would spend hours together with the other reps around the dinner table laughing at ourselves until our sides hurt! While I have never met Trip in person , she would always keep me up to speed on his whereabouts ( or her best guess! ) and fill me in on his progress in life. Linda would then want me to share with her all the good and positive things that were going on with my wife and son. She was always happy , upbeat , and looking for the best in others and in life in general. Linda -you will be missed by a great many friends and loved ones.

Linda and I were best friends from fifth grade on through high school. I spent many nights at her house and loved waking up to Mary Slagle's biscuits and gravy. Sometimes her brother would tie up a hammock for us between two big trees and we would swing and gossip and giggle for hours. And those slumber parties! Chris and Gail; Penny, Margaret, Sheila. So many fresh young girls. I haven't seen Linda in years; our paths went in different directions and I have lived on the west coach for years. But friendships made during those early years are always with us. My heart goes out to all who loved her and especially to her son. She left too soon. Deborah Holmes Monroe

I knew Linda very briefly when we both attended MYF at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in the late 1960s. I remember giving her a ride home to her family's log house in the area where Hamilton Place sits now. Even my wife knew her as a childhood friend, long before we met in high school. Linda was a force to be reckoned with, and trying to tell her "no" was impossible. I have thought about her often over the years, and it is nice to know, despite her illness, that she had such a full and rewarding life.
