Burl Douglas Fisher, 90, of East Ridge passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. Burl was the most non-judgmental, loving, generous, giving and compassionate old coot you would ever meet. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and received a Purple Heart during WWII. He enjoyed volunteering his time at the WWII Museum and voting poll. He also had a rare blood type and was a multiple gallon blood donor. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 59 years, Joan Fisher; daughters, Janet Fisher and Sherry Fisher; grandson, Terry (Lynda) Cope and precious great-grandchildren, Seth and Jonna Cope. Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mitch McClure officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors performed by the U.S. Air Force. The family will receive friends from 4-8PM on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to any veteran's organization or animal rescue organization.
