Obituary of Frances Sue Mathis

Frances “Sue” Mathis, born June 9, 1948, of Middle Valley/Hixson area became absent from her body, and present with the Lord on October 17, 2019.  

She was a member of Middle Valley COG, and graduated from Hixson High School in 1966.  She spent her entire life loving children. 

She was proceeded in death by her loving parents, Darwin & Helen Millsaps, and brother Wayne Millsaps. 

Survivors include sister Donna Millsaps, and 4 children, Eric (Lorie) Mathis, Kim (Tracy) McLean, Dava Winder, and Jeff (Emily) Mathis.   She was a NANA to 10 grandkids, Cheyenne (Logan) Holmes, Logan Mathis, Hayli, Morgan, and Skylar McLean, Braxton Winder, Olivia, Jaxon, Trent, and Cade Mathis.  And many nieces and nephews, and even more adopted kids and grandkids.  

Special thanks to Soddy Daisy Healthcare Facility staff members who loved and cared for her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 20, 2019, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mitch McClure officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
