I wish I could tell you about all my memories of my sweet Momma but that would take a while.
Dinner time at our house was very special to me. I remember Momma and my Nanni in the kitchen preparing dinner every evening. (We lived with my grandmother) When it was time to eat Momma would come out on the front porch and holler for us to get our butt’s to the house (we were somewhere in the neighborhood playing ) and get our hands washed. Then it began…. all of the jabbering about what we all had been doing and how our day had been (school work, up coming events etc.). We all would get to cutting up and Momma would have to call us down. (Most of the time she would get tickled and then it was total chaos). Dinner time was a time that I can remember Momma laughing and being so happy (because of my brother Kevin’s jokes and mischievousness) after a hard days work.
My Momma was one of the strongest most independent women I’ve ever known but also very vulnerable. Although I never saw the vulnerability part. She hid that well.
I’m happy that she is safely Home with our Father in Heaven. Oh my goodness what a reunion she and all of her family are having.
I love and miss you so much!

Where do I start.. I guess from the time I can remember anything as a child it’s staying at Granny’s house with my cousin Shane. Hearing her soaps from down the hall while me and him were playing cars or football in the hallway. Her always making sure I was fed and getting up always to make just what I wanted. She was such an amazing woman and I will miss her dearly.

I have so many memories, but my favorite memory is when we took Aunt Tootsie and her sister Mary to Kentucky to visit their sister Jane. They had so much fun laughing and catching up. Rest in peace Aunt Tootsie we will always love and miss you forever!!

So many memories about Toots hard to pick one. But I guess one of my favorite memories is everyone at 104 Hamilton. Nanni, Betty, mom (Jane), Toots and Mary (sometimes Dood was there too) around the kitchen table laughing joking and telling stories of when they were younger and stories on each other. Now they are all together once again and wish I could hear the stories they are telling now. Miss and love you all enjoy your reunion.

I think my fondest memories of Aunt Tootsie (Edna Ruth) are of her in the Kitchen at Nanni's house on Hamilton, especially her vegetable soup, but then I will never forget the canning she, Mom, Nanni, Betty and Mary doing during the summers when we were visiting.
The laughter from them was so sporadic you knew they were having fun even as they chopped the green beans, strawberries, okra or other veggies they found as they went through the roadsides in Soddy Daisy and neighboring areas.
I bet they are all together working on canning something or other things that I'm sure is bringing laughter.
