Obituary of William Edward London

William Edward London William Edward London, of Hixson, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023, with his family at his side. Ed was 88 years old. Ed was a member of Dallas Bay Church. He was a deacon and served on many church committees during his lifetime. He retired as an electrical contractor from his company, A.B.C. Electric. During his career, he served as president of the Chattanooga Electric League. He was a member of IBEW-175 and the NECA. He was also a board member of several banks and local businesses. Ed was interested in all things electrical and mechanical. His accomplishments include several of his electrical designs being patented. Ed was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He thrived on spending time with his family. He participated in his children and grandchildren’s lives and accomplishments. Ed was preceded in death by: his parents, Bill and Violet London; his brother, John London; his sister, Margie Lasley; and his nephew Lamar Lasley. He is survived by: his wife of 67 years, Mary Jo; his daughters, Robin (Alan) Cofer and Julie Williams; and his grandchildren: David Cofer; Meagan (Brandon) Hudson; Laura (Nate) Dunn; Clay Cofer; Rachel Williams; and Tara Cofer. A special place in his heart were his great-granddaughters, Anna and Audrey Cofer. His sister, Patsy Pelfrey, along with numerous nephews and nieces also survive Ed. The family wishes to express special gratitude to Doug London and Alan and Barbara Chance and Patsy Pelfrey for their help and assistance in caring for Ed. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Legacy Funeral Home with the Reverend Dwight Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and family at Legacy Funeral Home on Dallas Hollow Road, on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 12 noon until the service begins at two o’clock.
