We lived by Janet and Wes for 30 years. The first time I met Janet, her dog had gotten lose and my oldest son caught her and took her back to Janet. Later that day Janet brought over homemade cookies to thank my son for getting her dog. That was the beginning of knowing one of the kindest and truly sweetest persons. Janet and I had a lot of conversations at the fence between our homes for many years. She was always smiling.

Janet was a sweet and kind person. I met Janet when John joined the Knights. of Columbus. I went shopping with her and Ursula. We went to lunch after shopping. She always brought her leftovers home for Wes. She told me about adopting Maria. She was so proud of her little girl. She talked about her granddaughter and her great grandchildren. She loved her family very much. She will be truly missed.

I remember visiting Uncle Wes, Aunt Jan, and Chrissy when I was small. Aunt Jan made us feel at home and we slept on a futon on the floor. She sang us a lullaby when it was time for bed. I thought that was so special! One time when they all came for a Christmas visit to Granny Bell's, Aunt Jan made a lot of Christmas cookies and the whole house smelled wonderful! I really loved Christmas that year. Aunt Jan was a kind and caring person and I will really miss her.

I always enjoyed every time I saw Aunt Jan, be it at church with Uncle Wesley, or at family gatherings. I am glad I was able to join the family for dinner at New York Pizza Dept. the Sunday before she died. She and I even ordered the same entrée. She will be greatly missed.

My grandmother didn’t have a single hateful bone in her body. She accepted everyone no matter their race, background, or looks. She always tried to get to know someone for who they were and not what the looked like. I will always keep that memory of her with me and teach it to my children as well. She truly was an angel on this earth.

I met Janet probably when I was 15 years old. When I turned 16 I came to take her daughter Christine on our first date. I was pretty nervous to say the least. She welcomed me in their home with open arms. For the next three years she always treated me like family. Always had a hug for me. My prayers go out to Wes, Christine and the rest of the family. Heaven has gained a wonderful sweet child of God. Manny Owens

One sweet memory from KOC Christmas gift exchange, Janet took a Champion Belt as her gift, holding it up she told everyone this is for her Hero, then presented the Belt to Wes. ❤️❤️❤️

I’ll always have such fond memories of the many games of Aggravation and Dominos Maria and I shared with you. You were always one of my biggest fans of my cooking. You were a wonderful grandma to our fur babies and always spoiled them with either treats or a warm lap to lie upon. Your enormous heart and gentle soul will be truly missed.

We met Janet and Wes in 1970 when we moved in next to them in base housing. Wes and I were stationed at the Naval Communications Station San Miguel in the Philippines. After quickly becoming friends they gave us one of the greatest gifts a friend could give. They asked us to be Godparents to their new daughter Maria. Janet is the sweetest and kindest woman you could ever know. Though we will not see her beautiful smile or hear her encouraging words we know in our hearts she is in Heaven. She is smiling down on us and watching over us. We love you Janet and will always have you in our hearts and fond memories.

Mom, your light shined so bright while you were on earth. Heaven gained another beautiful Angel and I know you are where you wanted to be. I will miss your smile and your unconditional love for Dad and me. Please watch over us while you are singing with the choir of Angels. Forever, your loving daughter.
