Obituary of David Ray Newhouse

David Ray Newhouse, age 70, of Soddy-Daisy passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 24, 2024. David was a proud employee of TVA, where he worked in security, safeguarding the people and resources of the region. Beyond his career, he was an adventurous spirit who found joy in traveling and camping. A lifelong fan of The Beatles, David’s passion for music extended beyond listening—he also enjoyed playing the guitar. His love of history was evident in his conversations, which were often filled with fascinating stories and insights. David’s commitment to his community was reflected in his service as a Chief Fireman in Hollow Rock, where he bravely served and led with dedication and compassion. David’s faith in the Lord was a cornerstone of his life, and he carried his belief with grace and kindness. Above all, he cherished his family, and he is survived by his loving children, his sons, Christopher Newhouse, Daniel Newhouse and Joseph (Kayla) Newhouse, his daughter, Cathy Newhouse, sister, Sandra Brannon, grandchildren, Cheyanne, Kayla, Kaleb, Justice, Caden, Elijah, Katelyn, Nate, Will, Lauralei, Luna and Alexa, great-grandchildren, Annavee and Avi and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. At this time, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor David’s memory are encouraged to do so by sharing a story of history, playing a Beatles song, or simply enjoying traveling in his spirit.
