Charles Woy, 87 of Hixson died Sunday, August 14, 2016.He was a longtime member of Middle Valley Methodist Church where he had served as a trustee, lay leader, and part time Sunday school teacher. Mr. Woy was a United States Navy veteran and was the former owner of Woy's Grill in LaGrange, NC. He was the son of the late Joseph Woy, Sr. and Mary Morrow Woy and was also preceded in death by his wife, Elva Bailey Woy; stepdaughter, Brenda Minick, stepson, Charles Gionfriddo; and brothers, Joseph Woy, Jr. and Marshall Woy. Survivors include his son, Charles Earle Woy; stepson, Ronald Gionfriddo; daughters, Mary Atwood, Sondra Darlene Nicholas, and Barbara Ann Gravitte; sister, Margaret Davis; seven grandchildren, and blessed with many great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11:00 A. M., Thursday in the chapel of Legacy Funeral Home. Interment will follow in National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 P. M., Wednesday at Legacy Funeral Home.
