Please accept sincere condolences to all of you during this time of grief. Death leaves a hurt and void in our lives it doesn't matter who we are or where we are. Sickness, suffering and death was never God's original purpose. However he has made provisions to undo all suffering and to remove death forever. This promise is written in the Bible at Revelation 21:3,4. And Isaiah 33:24 tells us that no one living on earth will say: “I am sick." A life of eternity is before all who are obedient to the requirements of our loving Creator.

Brenda, Very sorry to hear about Jim. We did some splendid climbs together in the Chugach. One I still vividly remember was skiing up rabbit creek to the base of north suicide peak, ascending 2000 feet up a snow filled couloir to the summit and then a 5 minute glissade back to the base and then out. A long good day in spring sunshine. Once you guys moved we lost track of each other, so thanks for putting the obit in ADN.

My family moved just behind the Easons in the summer of 2013. They immediately welcomed us, our daughter, Rachel and our dog, Gracie. They immediately showed us love and kindness. They were the warm neighbors that you always hope to move next to. Mr. Jim will be missed immensely. There are no good byes, just good memories.

I am sorry to hear about Jim's passing. I knew Jim when I worked for Wilson Condon. He heard I was a fan of the Grateful Dead and asked if I had been to a concert. I told him that I had been to one concert, which was in Albany, NY in 1990. A week later he brought me a CD from the concert and a copy of the very tickets from the concert. I also recalled hearing the story about scuba diving with Jerry Garcia. Jim was a smart, thoughtful kind leader and a classy Deadhead.

It is with great sadness that I read the obituary for Jim this morning. I worked in the oil industry years ago and had the distinct pleasure to get to know Jim at that time. He was one of those rare individuals who actually was more often than not the most intelligent person in the room, but always showed respect toward others while always generous in sharing his professional knowledge with the many whom relied upon it. I feel it a privilege to have known him. Sincerely, Patrick Rumley

Brenda So sad to hear about Jim. He was a good friend and I enjoyed our time working together at the Division of Oil and Gas. Jim was always an inspiration and he kept everyone's spirits high. He cared about people and I think that is what made him a good leader. Bill Van Dyke
