Lou was my friend and teacher. A treasure in both regards. I am sad and miss him. I am glad and will see him again.

We are sorry to hear about your loss we pray that in the days ahead you will be fortified. May these words provide you hope and comfort during this your time of sadness. 1 Corinthians 15:21,22, "For since death came through a man, resurrection of the dead also comes through a man. For just as in Adam all are dying, so also in the Christ all will be made alive." Jesus said of himself that he was the resurrection and the life at John 11:25. May God sustain you all during this time as well. JR

Lou, we go away back. In 1958 we became friends at Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia. Your Senior year there was my first. In 1965 you asked me to candidate at your church in Evergreen Park, IL, where you served as elder. There we served as fellow elders until 1971. Our wives often looked after the youngest daughter of the other, your Lisa and our Priscilla. Our family and church fellowship was sweet. Very special. Our golfing excursions quickened our patience and humor. Once you even let me win in ping pong! Our theological discussions were rather deep at times (Ada Mary presumes you already have the millennial issues answered by our Lord!). We treasure our visits together in Chattanooga and Florida. The time is coming when we shall part no more, when every tear will be wiped from every eye! And every eye will behold the Glorious One! Within the deep, deep love of Jesus, Don and Ada Mary

Lou, our companion in faith and brother in Christ, we entrust you to God. Go forth from this world in the love of the Father, who created you; in the mercy of Jesus Christ, who died for you; in the power of the Holy Spirit, who strengthens you. At one with all the faithful, living and departed, may you rest in peace and rise in glory, where grief and misery are banished and light and joy evermore abide. Amen. (from the Anglican service) With love and prayer for all of the Voskuil family, in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection! from Peggy Porter (Dad is already in heaven) and Linda Porter Foh
