Obituary of James Howard Devine

James Howard Devine, Sr., 86 of Chattanooga passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017. He was the son of the late Roy and Mary Smith Devine and was also preceded in death by his son, James Howard Devine, Jr., and daughters, Valla Lynn Phillips, Vicky Ann Devine, and Elizabeth Darlene Devine. James attended North Chattanooga Church of God. He was retired from the United States Postal Service after 25 years of service and was a United States Air Force veteran. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Geneva West Devine, Chattanooga; daughter, Diane Allen, Atlanta; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Services will be at 1 P. M., Monday, February 20, 2017 in the chapel of Legacy Funeral Home with Rev. Paul West officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association of the Diabetes Association. The family will receive friends from 12 - 1 P. M. Monday at Legacy Funeral Home.
