Obituary of Joe McBrien

Attorney Joe McBrien died March 8, 2017. He was the son of the late Cora Lee Ellis McBrien, of Ellisville, Tennessee, and Michael McBrien of Glenon Beg, Ballinamore, County Leitrim, Ireland. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and the famous Cumberland School of Law of Samford University. He was a member of the Blue Key Honor Fraternity in law school. He was the author of a published history of the Civil War, called "The Tennessee Brigade." Mr. McBrien attended St. Thomas Military School and served in the U.S. Army. He engaged in the private practice of law in Chattanooga for over 48 years. Mr. McBrien is survived by four sons; Shawn (Karen), Brett, Clay (Frances), and Michael; seven grandchildren; Jacob, Joshua, Jonathan, Kaitlyn, Caroline, Emily and Patrick and his niece, Angela Lawson. There will be no public funeral.
