My family worked for Mrs. Simmons off and on for years when i was young......she took a genuine interest in me and what i was going to do with my life, and i guess saw something in me that i didn't see. She saw to it that i got a full ride to college and that i did all the right things, as my family could have never afforded to send me to school.. I guess the greatest gift that a person can give i can say about Mrs. Simmons without a doubt is that "I am what i am, because she cared enough to help make me what i am!" i will never, ever, forget her! Fran, Mitch , Flora and I traveled often in church groups, partied together often , and became f ast friends. We loved her dearly as well as that sparkle in her eyes always as we saw her . The picture captures that gorgeously. She was a very real person to whom one could always confide and trust it would go no further. She always showed interest in everyone and everything. She will be missed by our entire family. She is dancing in Heaven with Mitch, Helen & Greg ( & Helen) right now . I know deep down you are celebrating her legacy each and every member of your family with fond rememberances of her outstanding legacy , strong character and unfailing faith in her Lord Jesus Christ. Love in the Savior , Lord & King, Charlie Walldorf

I met Fran through the NICU Cuddler program at Children's Hospital. She and Mitch delighted in hosting the cuddlers for several years at their home for our Christmas party. We brought the food and Fran supplied her famous rolls. Fran and Mitch were both gracious and loving hosts. Fran was instrumental in convincing a friend of hers about the great need of Giraffe beds in NICU and the very first one was donated by that friend. That same power of persuasion she possessed, convinced me that I could serve with her on the Children's Hospital Board.Have you ever tried to tell her no? She was a wonderful mentor and friend and I , as well as NICU and TCTCH Foundation, will miss that wonderful smile, encouragement and can-do attitude tremendously! All love to the family she loved so much. Philippians 4:13 Amelia Sullivan

Dear Great Aunt Fran, I was so happy to have met you when I moved to Georgia in 1992. I was enchanted by your graciousness and enthralled with the stories about your children and their famileis each time we had the chance to visit. As well, I was delighted to assist with your travels through the Atlanta airport. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for welcoming me and my late mother, Carolyn, as well as my sons into your home. We got a feel for the wonderful Simmons legacy and the beauty of Lookout Mountain, thanks to you! All my love, Susan Martocchia Milne
