Ms. Martha & family, I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Jason was a very bright young man who was always there for his family & friends. I was so thankful he was there for me and my family when dad's legs gave out that day & we couldn't lift him into the wheelchair to get him in the house. Jason & a neighbor were there in a heartbeat to help. I just wished I could have been there for him as he was for me. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Renee (daughter of Jimmy & Loraine Crouch)

Martha and Dave, I really don't know what to say except that I am terribly sorry for the loss of Jason! Even though Jason and I are cousins, we were not very good to keep in touch and I am so sorry for that! I am also sorry for the hand that he was dealt from our side of the family! Dave, you were a wonderful father to Jason and I know that he was thankful that you came into his life and took over as his father! He is at peace now and can rest without any more sorrows or turmoils in his life! We have a wonderful and forgiving God and I know that he will forgive Jason for taking his own life, because God forgives us for all sins! Jason was not in his right frame of mind for this to have happened and I truly believe that God knows this! I love you and will be with you in prayer!! Janet Crawley Miller

I've known Jason for about 5 years through his electrical work. He worked directly for my company on several jobs and was one of the best in the field I have worked with. I considered him a friend as much as a colleague. Jason was a very giving, helpful person and I will cherish the fun hours of conversations we've had talking about fishing, our younger years, and our families. Your family is in my thoughts and my prayers through this very difficult time.

Jason to me was the brother I never had. I was closer to him than I am with my own brothers. It saddens me greatly to hear of his death. I remember all the good times at work we had together. You could always count on Jason to light up the jobsite. He cared deeply for his family and his friends and you could always count on him for anything in the world. That is what friends are all about. Please accept my condolences and if you need anything at all please do not hesitate to contact me.

My deepest condolences to David & Martha Thorne and Family. Jason and I met in the late 80's. Jason and I shared similar interest in motorcycles. It was during the days when you made a friend, you made a friend for life. As the years past we lost contact. In January of 2002, I went to work at an electrical shop in Chattanooga. Low and behold - there was Thorne! It was like we had never lost contact. Over the years we worked together quite a bit, as always I enjoyed the comradery and working with Jason. I was working with Jason not to long ago and my wife and I were going through a rough patch and I confided in Jason. He put me first on his priority list and insisted that I come have dinner, hang out and get my mind off of my problems. It did - I felt so blessed to have a friend like Jason. I only wish I could have returned the favor. Whenever Thorne and I would see each other, at work or at play, we were always smiling. I know one day we will smile together again. My family and I are truly saddened by your loss.

I was shocked and heartbroken to learn today of Jason's passing. He was my union brother and though we did not always see things eye to eye, he taught me to have patience with others as they learn new skills. I will never forget that. Farewell my brother. Choirs of angels sing thee to thy rest.

David: It has been a long time. I am a contractor working in Iraq right now, I just happen to be reading the paper when I saw that Jason had passed. I remember seeing Jason when I went home to visit Mom and Dad. Mom would talk about him and how a good kid he was. They live with Jeff in Kentucky now and I will let them know. Terry and Sandy live on the Outer Banks in North Carolina now, but I will let them know also. I have two sons, and I can't imagine the pain you are going through. My prayers are with you and your family David. If there is anything that I can do, please let me know. Gary

I left Lawson Electric approximately one year ago to take an electrical engineering position in Charlotte, NC. During my almost 20 years as a project manager at Lawson Electric Company, Jason either worked on a crew or ran several projects for me. I could always count on Jason's knowledge and workmanship. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. My deepest condolences go to his wife, children and parents.
