Obituary of Charles Leonard Gamblin

Charles 'Chuck' Leonard Gamblin, 82, of Soddy-Daisy passed away Monday, April 16, 2007 in an area hospital. He was born in Rossville, GA and had lived in Soddy-Daisy most of his life. He was of Baptist faith. Charles was a loving father and husband. He was a WWII and Korean War veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy R. Gamblin; parents, Jessie 'Shorty' Gamblin and Lula Gamblin; brothers, Chaney Gamblin and Laxton Gamblin. Survivors include his daughters, Angela 'Angel' Gamblin of Lupton City; D'Ann Franks (William), Nancy Hernandez (Jesus), Sharon Torres (William) all of California; step-daughter, Roberta 'Bertie' Smith of Soddy-Daisy; step-son, Robert Oiler of Ohio and other step-children; sisters, Lucille Skates, Grace Zigler and Peggy (Wilburn) Hardyman all of the Chattanooga area; brothers, James Gamblin of Orlando, FL; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Wilburn Hardyman officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton County Memorial Park.
