Helen Mathis, 81, of Hixson passed away October 6, 2007. She and her husband owned Cherokee Radio and Television Company on Cherokee Blvd for 25 years, opening in 1952. After his death she owned Repeat Boutique for 20 years. After retiring, she enjoyed demonstrations in numerous Wal-marts and grocery stores. She was a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy "Neal” Mathis; parents, L.F. "Ted” and Irene Sills Wilson; sister, Elizabeth Lindsey; and brother, Raymond Wilson; Survivors include her children, Georgia Cummons of Jacksonville, FL; Dayle Mathis of Chattanooga and Lisa Mathis of Soddy-Daisy; sisters, Mrs. Bobbie Boydston of Brooksville, FL and Mrs. Johnnie (Fred) Rogers of Chattanooga. A memorial service will be at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, October 14, 2007 in the Chattanooga National Cemetery, plot#Z-652. The family would like to express great appreciation to Dr. Elaine Galindez who is an exceptional doctor and was a great source of comfort to all of them and also to Hospice of Chattanooga for their constant communication and caring support for the entire family.
