Dear Joyce and Family: I am so sorry for your loss of William. Mother thought so much of both of you. I wanted to come to the funeral but Daddy is sick and I've been waiting on him. Give my love to the kids-- especially Becky and Sandy. I often think of us going to Nottley lake and camping. Becky, Sandy and I had good times. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I wish I could have been there for the service but there was just no way I could come at that time. I will always remember and I am so glad that I got the email from my brother Elam with the write up about William. That will proudly go in my collection of genealogy papers to pass on to my daughter, Jane Ashley Patton Elliott. This the end of an era that goes way back. As you go along in life you drag all of that with you as you go along and there are moments that I do remember about William. He left quite a legacy with your big family and I am sure he was proud.
