Obituary of James Robert Farley

James Robert 'Jim' Farley, 60, of Hixson passed away Friday, December 21, 2007 in an area hospital. A native of Fort Morgan, Colorado, he was a graduate of East Ridge High School and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Jim was the Purchasing Director for Hamilton County for many years. He was of the Baptist faith. Jim was an avid lover of history, particularly of the Napoleonic era. He was a kind, thoughtful and loving person who always put others needs ahead of his own and a gentle soul who saw the best in everyone. His precious life made the world a better place. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Peace Farley. He is survived by his wife, Claudia Stewart Farley of Hixson; father, Robert R. (Betsy) Farley of Chattanooga; daughter, Amanda Farley of Charleston, SC; son, Scott (Susan) Farley of Chattanooga; sister, Kathy Watkins of Chattanooga; beloved granddaughters, Caroline and Catherine Farley; beloved dog, Olivia; Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday, December 26, 2007 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Don Lasley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
