Obituary of Suel Spencer Rievley

Suel Spencer Rievley, 68 of Soddy-Daisy passed away Monday, June 9, 2008 in an area hospital. Suel was born on May 21st 1940 to the late Anderson and Emma Rievley. He was a 1958 graduate of Sale Creek High School. After High School he served our country in the National Guard Reserves. He retired from the Electric Power Board after 37 years of service. He also worked and served the families of our area starting out in 1960 employed by the late Jimmy Williamson, Sr. at Williamson-Garrison Funeral Home in Soddy and continued serving families until his illness. He was currently a business associate with Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center. He also currently was the owner of Rievley Electric Company and attended Sale Creek Church of God. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ivan and Byrd Rievley and sister, Helen Rievley. He is survived by his wife, Alice Rievley of Soddy-Daisy; brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Libby Rievley of Hixson; sisters, Imogene Smith and Kate Pendergrass, both of Sale Creek; granddaughter, Amanda Donaldson; step-children, Jackie and Justin Pendergrass of Soddy-Daisy; Crystal Pendergrass of Harrison and Dawn (Michael) Garner of Hixson. Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon Friday, June 13, 2008 at Sale Creek Church of God with Bishop Kenneth Bolton officiating. Interment will follow in Rhea Memory Gardens with Grant Sowder, Johnny Higdon, Daryl Pendergrass, Danny Higdon, Stanley Rievley and Jackie Pendergrass, Jr serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Wednesday and 4-8 on Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Rievley will lie in state at the church from 11:00 am until the time of the service on Friday. A Special thanks to his electrical business partner, Grant Sowder and friends, Dean Higdon and Spud Jordan who all loved Rievley very much. Also a very special thanks to the Doctors and Nurses at Memorial Hospital Oncology Unit for the excellent care he was given.
