Chris and my brother Frank were best buds when they were in 9th grade. We lived across the street from him as well. I adored Chris and his humor. He was a skater back then and we all had some really fun times. He was also a wonderful artist and gave some of his artwork to our family. My mom still has these. My prized possession from Chris is a skater cap that he wore all the time and loved. He gave this to me before our family moved to Florida. I too still have this. He was such a good friend. We didn't keep in touch over the years - so I never got know him as an adult. However, when I look back I have some fabulous memories of this really fabulous human being. I am thankful to have known him on this life's journey. My entire family send their condolences to Chris's family and friends. We will keep you all tucked in our hearts and pray for you all during this extremely difficult time. May God Bless You and Hold You Close ~ Melissa Stanaitis Rubin in California and The Stanaitis Family in Florida

Dear Rebecca, Chris was such a wonderful person! I have nothing but good memories of him from school- cracking us up in art class, skating at Ryan Hakal's house, and just being a great friend. He always made you laugh- and he was rarely without a smile when you saw him. Chris was one of those special people made to bring happiness to others. I'm sure that he was a wonderful husband and father. I pray that God will bring you and your precious children comfort and strength.

My Dearest Sweet Rebekah, oh how I love you and my heart aches and cries with your heart. I remember coming over and hanging with you and Chris, playing spades, girls against guys. We were sure not to let the guys cheat in any way!!! Was such a good time and Chris was so funny, always made me laugh. I might be far away but I am and will always be here for you. All you have to do is call. Know that you are deep in my heart and from Wisconsin and Arkansas are many holding you and your family up in prayer. Love you forever, Jo Lynn

I am honored to know Chris over the past 3 years. What a fine father, son, husband, brother and friend. A magnetic personality full of curiosity, creativity, adventure, and zest for life. With his family at the center of his world, he touched many lives - lighting the room up when he walked in - the children carry on his spirit with the same undiscriminating kindness, mischievous smile, and uplifting energy. My love and condolences to the family, Rebekah, King, Ruby, Leon, Rita and Kevin. My prayers are with you.

Rebekah, My name is Jaime Raines. I was a friend of Chris in high school. About a year and a half ago, i lost my wife. She was 32 years old. I wanted you to know that when I lost Brandy, all I wanted was someone to listen. I got quite a few people who were trying their best to make me feel better by giving me the cliche responses you get when you lose someone. I wanted to tell you, if you ever want to talk to someone who has lost their spouse way too soon, I would be honored to talk to you. My daughter is 4 now. she was 2 1/2 when Bran died. Its been a tough road. I know you've got your family, and I know you dont know me. One thing I've been looking for is someone to talk to who is in the same boat as me. I know you feel robbed of your life partner. I know right now, its hard to even conceive of a future without Chris. Believe me, I understand. I would be so honored if you would want to talk or maybe email me sometime. You're going to get angry, and its not going to be easy. Feb 12, 2010 will be two years since I lost my wife. It's still hard. But I've learned to move forward.I dont think the pain ever goes away, but we learn to live with it and we learn to use that pain for something good. Please remember that it does get easier to deal with. You have two beautiful children who need you now. One mistake I made was crying too much in front of my daughter. She was on the brink of changing her happy persona into a child lost in my sadness. I try really hard to make sure my daughter knows her mommy may not be here physically, but that doesnt mean she doesnt have a mommy anymore. it means her mommy is now in her heart and watching over us. I could ramble for days, but I want you to call me if you ever want to talk. The hard days will be after the dinners stop coming, and the late nights go on for days. Thats when its good to talk to someone that isnt too close to you. Those cliche responses get old quick. Maybe I can help in some small way. Please feel free to call me anytime. Jaime Raines 423 847 0520 home. Im usually up til 2am 423 876 7719 office. I work at Marshal Mize Ford 423 595 3245 cell. We have all lost a friend and a true gentleman. I was fortunate to meet Chris when he entered my 4th year classroom at the Local 43 apprenticeship program. It was my first year instructing, I was nervous to say the least. Chris sat on the front row and I'm sure he felt my awkwardness We discussed the trade, mathematics science, motorcycles and our families. He truly loved his wife, children and parents. The way he conducted his business made others step up and do there best. Chris left a mark on this earth in his short life and he will truly be missed. I pray for his family and that his children grow up knowing that there father was one of a kind. Respectfully, Jeff Collins
