Obituary of Carlos Felix Aguilera

Carlos Felix Aguilera, II of Chattanooga passed away Thursday, January 28, 2010. Carlos was born and raised in Oxnard. Carlos left this world at the age of 53 years. Although he was here a short time, he accomplished so many wonderful things. He was proud to play an active role in the Cesar Chavez Union Organization. In the early 1990's he was president of Eastside Little League. He was proud to be a part of "Youth at Risk" in Colonia. In 2000, Carlos moved to Guadalupe, Calif., where he became a city council member, along with being on the planning commission board in Guadalupe. He was always doing for the community. Carlos was an extremely talented and intelligent man. He managed his own antique finishing company for many years. Carlos was a loving husband, father of three, and grandfather. Outside his family, Carlos's past times included fishing, golfing, and being outdoors. Carlos often took long walks and stopped and talked to whoever, wherever, stranger or friend. Carlos loved to play his trumpet. Our world will never be the same without him. Carlos is survived by Irma Aguilera; children, Marcie, Salina and Charlie Aguilera; grandchildren, Vincent Marc and Maximus Rodriguez, Katlyn and Mason Ash; sisters, Donna Hernandez, Georgina Plascencia, Bernice Powell, Sylvia Hebert; brothers, Tomas Plascencia, Steven Aguilera; father, Carlos Aguilera Sr. He is preceded in death by his mother, Adela Plascencia and brothers, Louie Valenzuela, George and Dicky Plascencia. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Garcia Mortuary Chapel in Oxnard.
