Childhood Growing up I only had my Mom. Every summer I would go and visit my Grandfather and Grandmother in New Mexico. My Grandfather was like a dad to me my whole life. He had taken one of my Aunts, my Uncle, and me to Canada to go fishing. My Grandfather loved to fish, and I loved fishing with him, even though I seemed to always get his favorite lures stuck to the point where we had to break the line. My Grandfather used to take a bunch of us camping/fishing to Elephant Butte in New Mexico for 4th of July. One of my favorite memories, was when my Grandfather would take me and a couple of my cousins, along with my Uncle horseback riding. I miss you Grandpa, but I know that you are much happier being with Grandma and Uncle Gregg now. I will always love you and will never forget you or the things that you taught me.

nap time My grandfather and i were close. and one afternoon i was sitting in his lap. and all i know is we would talk and talk about what? i don't remember. but as you know it about an hour past and we both fell asleep. i had a dream when i fell asleep that day. it was about me, daddy(greg) and grandpa Tom all sitting in the big grass fields having a wonderful picnic along with grandma Donna my brother Shawn and Jr I thought that that would come true. but God has better plans for him. As soon as i woke up i was smiling like i had never smiled before.

Tom Workman and I graduated in the same class from West High School in January of 1955. He was one of the few young men along with me and many other women to earn membership in National Honor Society for academic achievement. We lost touch after high school as he pursued his engineering degree and my husband and I worked diligently to get through college together and raise our family of ultimately four kids. For 55 years his classmates were not aware of his residence so he never received an invitation to one of our every five year class reunions beginning in 1965 until his friend, Gayle Lamb Nash, also a friend of mine, provided me with an address. To our great joy, Tom joined us last October for our 55th high school reunion here in Columbus, Ohio, and all in attendance had a chance to catch up with him. I am truly saddened by news of his death because when we last visited in the Fall of 2010 he seemed in the picture of health. Please share my condolences to your family -- both immediate and extended. I will be passing on this unfortunate and sad news to many other of our classmates. Sharon Robinson Keaney

I was shocked to read of Tom's passing. We lived across the street from each other during high school. We last visited with each other personally at the West High 1955 Class Reunion last August and stayed in touch via phone. He was always fun and just a great guy. Please accept my sincerest sympathy. Gayle Nash
