Obituary of David Brown Loftis

David Brown Loftis died February 2, 2021, from complications of a rare congenital kidney disease. He had battled the disease his entire life. David was a proud graduate of Soddy Daisy High School and Middle Tennessee State University. He spent his entire career in law enforcement. He started his public service as a volunteer fireman. He was later a detective in Laverne, Tennessee, where he was proud to work with the F.B.I. on a joint violent crimes task force. He later worked for the West Virginia Lottery Commission and his career culminated working for Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, a city he loved. David was stubborn, endlessly loyal, and unabashedly old-fashioned. He will be greatly missed by the communities he served, the many friends he made, the law enforcement community, and most of all by his family . He is survived by his parents, Don and Kathy Loftis, and his brother in law and sister, Scott and Dana Chadwell. He had a special place in his heart for his Uncle David (William David) and Aunt Cathy Loftis, Uncle Hal and Aunt Jan McMahan, Uncle Pete (Dennis) and Aunt Karla Sisson, and Aunt Ann and Uncle Ron Scogin, as well as many cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Kidney Foundation of Greater Chattanooga, or any charity of your choice. There will be no services at this time, but the family plans to celebrate his life when those who love him can join together safely.
