King was our neighbor growing up on Hill Road. Our Mom, Doris, and King had so many great conversations while talking across the fence. We loved him so...later as he had small children we became just as enamored of them. Not long ago while driving down my old childhood street I saw King at his mailbox. I waved him down and and he was so tickled to see one of the now grown Tillis kids. Loved King McGee, a true gentleman to us.
King, you will truly be missed. I loved coming in to work every other weekend at Abe’s because I knew that you would always have a good story for me, or you would say something to put a smile on my face. I am going to miss seeing you around buddy. Sending my deepest condolences to your family, especially your girls.

I am a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and got to know King when he lived at Abe’s Garden Community. He was a faithful attender of our church’s livestream service every Sunday. I have a wonderful memory of his watching the service while eating popcorn. I would connect with him each Sunday as I came to visit our church members living there. We always included him in our Westminster luncheons we had there. He was a delight to be around and feel blessed to have known him.
