Obituary of Edie Harris

V. Edythe (Edie) Harris, 66, of Soddy Daisy, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 9, 2006 at her home. Mrs. Harris was a well-known pianist and music teacher, having played in many area churches and having taught many people throughout the Chattanooga area. She was born December 21, 1939 in Summerville, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Joseph Benjamin (Benny) Harris; and her parents, Rev. William Henry and Carol Harrison of Signal Mountain. Survivors include her devoted husband of 48 years, Alvin E. Harris; daughter, Laura Carol (Wayne) Taylor, Hixson; son, Brad (Beth) Harris, Dayton and four grandchildren, Hannah and Katie Harris and Rodney and Matthew Taylor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home or Bethel Bible Village.
